Carols on The Green, Tues 17th December at 6.30pm

The Southgate Green Association and the choir from Christ Church will be singing Christmas carols around the Christmas tree on The Green on Tuesday 17th December at 6.30pm. It would be lovely if you could come along and join in the festivities, everyone is welcome.

Ground Force Day and Pop – Up Cafe, Sunday 22nd September

Please come along to help tidy up The Green and surrounding areas on Sunday 22nd September 9.30 – 11.30. The Green is a focal point for our community and it is important that we keep it as a place to enjoy and be proud of.

The focus will be on light pruning, weeding and litter picking in the public spaces around The Green. We will bring along some tools and rubbish bags but please bring your own gloves, shovels, brushes, secateurs and litter pickers if you have them and please wear appropriate footwear.

Coffee and tea will be available from a ‘Pop-Up Cafe’ hosted by the SGA Committee!

Help make a difference and be part of something bigger by coming along on Sunday the 22nd September. We will be meeting at the ‘stocks’ at The Green at 9.30.

Say ‘No’ to Arnos Grove Controlled Parking Zone

Enfield Council is consulting on the introduction of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) covering the area from The Green, Southgate to Station Road, New Southgate and from Waterfall Road down to the North Circular. The CPZ will apply 7 days a week, from 8.00am to 7.30pm, meaning only residents in the CPZ area will be able to park there and only if they buy a parking permit. The roads near retail outlets will become ‘pay to park’.

This will severely impact shops, businesses, religious venues, community meeting spaces in and around the CPZ. It will also severely impact residents of the CPZ, people living in the surrounding roads and anyone using the retail outlets at The Green. The link below provides more detail, the consultation is open until Friday 13^th September.

AGM 2024 Summary

The AGM took place at the Lower Walker Hall on 11^th May 2024 and was followed by a wonderful talk by the Reverend Chrichton Limbert and a cheese and wine reception.

The evening was well attended. The motions that were put forward to the AGM were passed. The Reverend Chrichton Limbert then enthralled attendees with a colourful and witty talk on his 30 year career at the BBC. Following the talk, everyone mingled over cheese and wine, which was such a nice way to get to spend the evening sharing stories and chatting
